Before you launch a website, check that it works on mobile, loads fast, has its SEO basics in place, that forms and links work, analytics is set up, and that you can be found and contacted. Run this checklist and you avoid the mistakes that cost enquiries on day one.
Before you go live
- Mobile. Check every page on a real phone, not just desktop.
- Speed. Run it through PageSpeed Insights and fix the obvious drags.
- SEO basics. Page titles, descriptions, a sitemap, and clean URLs in place.
- Forms and links. Test every form actually sends, and click every link.
- Analytics. Set up so you can see traffic and enquiries from day one.
- Contact details. Correct, consistent, and easy to find.
After you launch
- Submit your sitemap to Google Search Console and request indexing.
- Update your Google Business Profile and links to point at the new site.
- Watch analytics and search for anything broken in the first week.
The mistake to avoid
Launching quietly and assuming Google will find it. Tell Google it exists, point your profiles at it, and check the basics actually work.
